Research interests include prosocial behavior, interpersonal neurobiology, humanistic sandtray therapy, and the mind-body connection in counseling.
Dr. Georgieva earned both a master's degree in counseling, and a doctorate degree in counselor education and supervision at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia. She completed her undergraduate studies in psychology at St. Kliment Ohridski University in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Dr. Georgieva has served as Board/Committee member for the Virginia Counselors Association (VCA), the Maryland Counseling Association, and the Northern Virginia Licensed Professional Counselors (NVLPC). She provides individual counseling and humanistic sandtray therapy to adolescent and adult clients at a private practice in Northern Virginia.
