Profile

Lauren grew up in southeastern Pennsylvania and graduated from Messiah College with her Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). After serving in a year-long urban education fellowship in Boston, Massachusetts, she accepted an elementary teaching position in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. She has been teaching in the Harrisburg School District ever since- leading classrooms at both the Kindergarten and Second Grade levels and earning her Reading Specialist certification through her graduate program at Michigan State University. Lauren enjoys working with Messiah College pre-service teachers as well as supporting the Messiah College and Downey Elementary School partnership.

Lauren enjoys reading, letter-writing, biking, and traveling.
