Profile

Dr. Mortimer has over 40 years of experience in nursing. Her areas of clinical expertise include high-risk neonatal nursing, nursing education, and nursing leadership and management. She has previous experience as an assistant professor of nursing where she taught RN-BSN students and graduate students and was a coordinator for the DNP program prior to moving into her nursing leadership role.

Dr. Mortimer began her nursing career as an LPN prior to earning an AASN from Excelsior College. She completed her RN-BS at York College of Pennsylvania, and then went on to complete her MSN in Nursing Education from Mansfield University. Upon earning her DNP from York College of Pennsylvania, Dr. Mortimer completed a post-master’s certificate in the Nurse Executive track at Nebraska Methodist College. She holds Nurse Executive Advance Board Certification. Dr. Mortimer has been an adjunct faculty member at Messiah since 2015.
