Amanda Davis-Buie’s field of study is in counseling and counselor education where she has served in various roles beginning in 2005. She is a licensed professional counselor in Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, and Ohio, and a Licensed Behavioral Specialist in Pennsylvania. Amanda served as a Mobile Therapist and Behavioral Specialist Consultant for eleven years, before opening her own private practice. She now works with patients individually and in group settings, facilitates trainings and workshops, serves as a clinical supervisor, and as a debriefer for the PA State Police. Amanda also facilitates TAAR (Taking Action Against Racism) Workshops and SELAH (Students Engaged in Listening and Hope) Workshops. Amanda serves on various boards for community organizations and is Board Chair for the Lebanon County Commission for Women. Amanda’s research beginning from work she completed for her dissertation is the Experiences of Maritally Satisfied Black American Couples Serving in Law Enforcement. She has presented at conferences and symposiums including the ACES Conference where she co-presented on Cybersupervison Through a Social Justice Lens: Implications for Practice in Counselor Education.
