NURS 203: Historical & Conceptual Basis for Nursing
Laura Lebo earned her BSN from Messiah University in 2000. After graduation, she began her career working as a staff nurse on a cardiac unit at Lancaster General Hospital. Over the years, Laura held positions in different types of nursing including Home Health, Endoscopy and Women’s Health. She found her love for teaching when she worked as a Community Health Childbirth Educator for seven years. Laura made a transition back to bedside nursing as an adjunct faculty member for OB at PA College of Health Sciences. After receiving her Master’s in Nursing Education from Millersville University in 2017, Laura began teaching at Harrisburg Area Community College in Lancaster as the Simulation Lab Coordinator and Instructor for RN Fundamental Skills. Laura returned to Messiah as a faculty member in the fall of 22’ in the role of Simulation Educator. For Laura, Messiah is a place of great memories and lasting friendships. She enjoys helping to provide those opportunities for current Messiah nursing students.
Outside of the office, Laura enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, taking in many of their performances and sporting events. One of the family’s favorite activities is going for rides in the 57’ Chevy which usually ends with a stop for ice cream!
