Dr. Kendra L. Jackson completed her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Ohio University in 2017.She also has a M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health and School Counseling from Ohio University, and a B.S. in Human Development and family Studies from Bowling Green State University. Since completing her studies, she has taught in residential and online graduate counseling programs.
Although she enjoys teaching and training the next generation of counselors, she is also passionate about caring for the mental, spiritual, and emotional well-being of clients. She has engaged in clinical work as a licensed professional counselor for many years, and have worked in school districts, rural and urban settings, community mental health agencies, crisis departments, and via telehealth. Still to this day, she engages in clinical practice as well as supervises post-graduates and interns in the state of Michigan.
Moreover, she presents at national, regional, and state conferences and serve on the board for the Association for Specialists in Group Work (ASGW) as the president. Furthermore, she is a Qualified Administrator for the Intercultural Development Inventory (IDI), possess an online teaching certification through Quality Matters, is an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), a Licensed School Counselor (MI), and is a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE). She is enthusiastic about engaging in service and advocacy, mental health, teaching, and helping students to accomplish their future goals.
Dr. Jackson resides in the Detroit Metropolitan area. She enjoys spending time with family, baking from scratch, traveling, and spending time with her fur baby (i.e., dog).
