I applied for the position and they offered me the job after four interviews.
I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a little girl. I grew up playing sports like soccer, tennis, basketball, and track and loved being active. When I was in 10th grade, I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes and I learned a lot about the importance of eating healthy and staying active. I became very passionate about health and wellness and wanted to teach kids at a young age the importance of that in order to live a long and healthy life. I combined my love for teaching and physical activity and that is why I chose the Health/Physical Education degree at Messiah College.
When I arrive at school I have a morning duty. Some days I monitor breakfast and other days I monitor the Kindergarten hallway. I have six 40 minute classes a day with a 30 minute lunch and 40 minute plan period.
My Messiah College degree definitely prepared me for this career. All of the professors I have had gave me the knowledge that I needed to succeed in this career. Not only in academics, but Messiah College also taught me how to be an expression of the love of Jesus in my teaching.
