Freelance percussionist Joshua Long graduated from Messiah College in 2019 with a B.M. in Music Performance. While at Messiah, Josh performed in a wide variety of ensembles, including the Percussion Ensemble, Wind Ensemble, Symphony Orchestra, JazzOne, JazzTwo, and Jazz Combos, as well as performing as a vocalist in the Messiah College Choral Arts Society. Josh also served as both the bassist and drummer for Messiah’s touring worship band Seven from 2018-2019. Josh also amassed an impressive resume in the classroom, serving as a music theory tutor for the music department, as well as earning the prestigious Presser Scholar award in 2018. In addition to his work at Messiah, Josh has built an impressive resume as a professional freelance musician, performing as a pit percussionist for Theater Harrisburg’s production of Newsies, as well as working as a percussionist for the RWS Entertainment Group in 2017. Josh also performed as a percussionist with the touring West African ensemble Azaguno in their 2016 performance in Accra, Ghana. Currently, Josh can be seen performing as a percussionist at Hershey Park amusement park in Hershey, PA.
