As a Clinical Therapist, I am constantly building a rapport with clients to strengthen the therapeutic alliance. My goal is to meet clients where they are at and assist them in improving their cognitive and emotional functioning. My speciality is adolescents, however I do work with other age groups to provide mental health counseling. In sessions, I tailor skills and interventions to clients needs. Then I create individualized treatment plans for each client with goals and objectives that inform ongoing sessions. Most days, I will have around 4-6 sessions with clients.
In college, I completed my sophomore internship through New Hope Ministries and my Senior Internship at Vista Autism School. Out of College, I worked at Families United Network (Foster Care and Adoption Agency) for over two years. I completed my Masters while working and retrieved my License in Social Work. I began the job search process and was interested in private practice, which led me to my current position.
Messiah’s Social Work Department has contributed heavily in my success. The foundation of Social Work that you receive is so valuable as it provides the strong base before you enter the work force. I left Messiah feeling competent and capable as a Social Worker. My Masters was a breeze due to being prepared well at Messiah.
Yes! The program provides a wonderful foundation of Social Work that prepares you well for grad school and the work force!
