After graduating with my bachelors of social work I worked for a family service agency working with children in foster care. I have always been passionate about working for nonprofits and helping those in need. I also have a passion for animal welfare and the human animal bond. My degree in social work along with my masters degree in Anthrozoology has prepared me for a career that involves working with both people and animals.
I was able to apply the classroom material to real life situations through internships throughout my time at Messiah.I think I learned and took away important lessons from all of my classes. Don’t assume you have it all figured out. Take time to enjoy where you’re at, enjoy your college experience, and learn and experience all you can.
Would you recommend Messiah's BSW program to future social workers?
Yes, you will have helpful and caring professors and classmates who will support you. You will learn how to lead and be a competent and professional social worker.
