I started at an outpatient community mental health clinic and then worked in a 6:1:1 day treatment senior high classroom. From there I worked for 6 years providing forensic social work services within the New York prisons. I did individuals and groups as well as the crisis residential unit at Elmira Correctional Facility. Then I took 4 years off to wise my young kids and went back to work at BOCES in their special education department in their 8:1:1 10th grade classes.
I went to try Philly campus and it gave me a passion for social change and social justice. Working with a variety of individuals and a base challenge to leave the world a better place. There are so many fields and options, a variety of settings and populations you can work in, with this manhole.
