At GSL Governmental Consulting I provide a variety of services that focus on management consulting, and economic development aimed at implementing uniquely tailored solutions to complex operational, regulatory and funding issues related to state and local government. I advise private companies seeking to do business with or receive assistance from the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. I also assist clients in developing new state programs or amending existing ones to address specific unmet needs. Additionally, I devise complex sector deals between public and nonprofit entities and private sector participants.
I would advise both prospective and current students to try to resist the urge to put yourself in a box. It’s okay to not know what you are going to do for the rest of your career! Your social work education is generalized for a reason. Be open to opportunities, you never know how new experiences, relationships, or skills will come into play later in life.
Would you recommend Messiah’s BSW Program to future social workers? Why?
Messiah’s Social Work Department prepared me for a vast range of professional opportunities, from clinical to macro-level practice. I still use direct practice skills in my day-to-day and my understanding of, and appreciation for, the policy process. I can honestly say that my social work education was one of the best decisions of my life.
