Graduating from Messiah with a degree in music education, Yeh went on to pursue a master’s in trumpet performance at University of North Texas. She is now elementary general music teacher for grades K-5 and choral director at Prince William County Public Schools in Manassas, Va.
The turning point for Yeh’s career was during her junior year when she completed an honors project for Professor of Music William Stowman.
“It was this project that made me realize that I wanted to extend my studies and earn a higher degree in music,” said Yeh.
What would Yeh say about an education at Messiah to prospective students?
“Messiah College may be a small Christian college in rural Pennsylvania, but that does not limit you to what you can do and where you can go with your degree,” said Yeh. “I was accepted to possibly the best graduate school in the country for trumpet performance, all because of the amazing education I had at Messiah College.”
