Current Position:
Master's student at Georgia State University & Graduate Assistant with Georgia State University Athletics Development
After graduating from Messiah in the spring of 2014, I enrolled in Georgia State University's Master of Science program in Sport Administration. I have enjoyed my time at Georgia State University, expanding on the knowledge from Messiah through an internship with their marketing department and currently work as a graduate assistant in Athletics Development (Athletic Fundraising, like what the Falcon Athletic Network is at Messiah).
For someone interested in sport management, I would recommend making a decision on what area within sport management you want to go into and build your experience from there. When an opportunity arises, take it! Having a strong work ethic, positive attitude, spirit of thankfulness, and passion for sports will allow you to succeed in sport management. Networking is a key skill to have, so be sure to work on building relationships as well. Finally, enjoy school and enjoy what you do. I'm honored to be a Messiah College alumnus and have enjoyed the many memories and friendships made.
I have had a passion for sports since I was young; however, when it came time to choose my major, I couldn’t decide. After starting off with athletic training I soon found out that it wasn’t for me and that the business side of sports was a better fit. I made the switch from athletic training (which I'm now blessed to have a minor in) to sport management the summer after my sophomore year.
