Timothy Dixon, conductor
Sponsored by the School of the Arts Performing Arts Series
Trio Atlantis will join the Messiah College Symphony Orchestra in a world-premiere performance of a new piece by Swedish composer Johan Gund. Trio Atlantis is a woodwind chamber music project consisting of three distinguished musicians from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. Swedish instrumentalists Britta Holger, oboe, and Nils Erik Hagström, clarinet, joined Swedish-American and Messiah faculty member Todd Goranson, bassoon and saxophone, for a series of concerts in Sweden in 2016, including a recital at the former home of Alfred Nobel. The combination of these three musicians has been described as “stellar,” and Trio Atlantis is excited to be making their U.S. premiere performance.
