The goal of the club is to strengthen and grow student’s relationship with God, by deepening their understanding and ability to dialogue about theological concepts. The name, “Increase” comes from Colossians 1:10, where Paul prays that the saints at Colossae would be, “increasing in the knowledge of God.” This club falls directly in line with the mission and objectives of Messiah University. The club will present an opportunity for students to talk about theological concepts in an organized way and in a friendly, God-honoring environment. This will provide students the option to discuss theological concepts, as there are not a lot of current opportunities on campus for this explicit purpose.

The Orthodox Christian Fellowship of Messiah University is an organization that looks to connect orthodox students with one another, as well as educate non-orthodox students about the Orthodox Christian faith. OCF also looks to be an integral part of students’ spiritual formation by challenging them to explore the Faith. As a group, we host 4x4 chapel series, lectures on the faith, and visits to Orthodox monasteries.

Powerhouse gathers every Thursday that classes are in session in Hostetter Chapel at 8:30pm. It is the mission of the Powerhouse Team to lead gatherings of God-inspired corporate-worship through song, prayer, and scripture, engaging both spiritually and theologically in response to the invitation of Christ. We accomplish this with skillful hands and integrity of heart, through faithful preparation, that by our gathering all may be transformed by the renewing of our minds, hearts, and soul, and be sent out in love and peace to transform the world.
