ELI Leadership Options

Experiential Learning Initiative (ELI)

Messiah University requires all undergraduate students to complete at least one approved Experiential Learning Initiative (ELI) activity prior to graduation. ELI provides students with a structured framework to engage their chosen experience in a way that leads to enhanced self-awareness, career preparation and community engagement opportunities. ELI aims to teach and prepare students to articulate their “Messiah story” in a way that is meaningful to prospective employers and their communities.

ELI Leadership

There are a number of opportunities for students to fulfill their ELI requirement through leadership on campus. These approved opportunities are in areas such as Residence Life, Campus Ministries, Student Government, The Pulse, the Agape Center for Local & Global Engagement, Wellness and Recreation, Multicultural Programs, Student Activities, and more. Contact Christy Hanson, Dean of Experiential Learning, for questions about ELI leadership opportunities.
