End of Year - Check-out Info

Potential Consequences

These are the things we’d rather not implement, but the reality is Messiah University has 2,000+ students checking out and preparations are being made for summer conferences. Our expectations are outlined in this webpage and if you fail to do what is expected, these are the consequences you may face:

Leaving items in storage after May 6– Items will be thrown out or donated. (You may take items out of storage 7-9pm on designated days by contacting the RA On Clock.)

Improper Checkout (Late or Failure to check-out) - $50

Common Area Damages – charges are divided among all residents of floor or section unless one or more people take responsibility for the damage.

Damage to room or furniture – determined by RDs and Facility Services.  A list of furniture and repair costs is available in the Office of Residence Life.

Leaving a dirty room or apartment - Prices vary to cover the cost of extra cleaning done by the Campus Events staff. In apartments, chargers could accumulate up to $800 per apartment if left uncleaned!

Lost Key - $75, if you mail it in it must be received by Tuesday, May 28.  If mailing it please tape the key to an index card or cardboard or mail it in a bubble mailer.

Missing Storage Hours - $25 if you need to remove something from storage after May 6 or put something in storage after May 12.

Staying (non-graduates) more than 24 hours after your last final without approval OR (graduates) not being out of your room or apartment by 10 am on Sunday, May 12 – $75 for staying past the deadline plus $25 for every hour after that.
