Welcome to the Master of Occupational Therapy program at Messiah University
Occupational therapy is a profession that enables individuals to participate in the occupations of everyday living. As occupational therapists, we are concerned about meeting the needs of others and helping them achieve purpose and meaning in life. People who choose occupational therapy as a profession want to make an impact in the lives of individuals and communities and so it is with great excitement that I invite you to explore occupational therapy as a career.
At Messiah University, we are excited to offer an occupational therapy program that is committed to graduating caring, competent professionals who are fully equipped to serve others. You will find many programs that strive for this goal, but what makes Messiah’s program so unique, so special, is our distinct value that students will learn how to integrate faith and service into professional practice.
Our occupational therapy program combines academic excellence with experiential learning in authentic, real-life environments and infuses service-learning, global engagement, and leadership development opportunities into the curriculum. Our educational facilities consist of state-of-the-art classrooms with access to the most current technologies and multiple labs that enrich diverse learning experiences. Foremost, our students learn how to apply faith and service, relating to others with empathy, respect, and advocating for justice and restoration.
Upon graduation, our students will be prepared to enter the workforce, confident in their abilities for outstanding practice, with hearts for caring and making a significant difference in the lives of others. If this sounds like your goal too, I encourage you to become a part of the Messiah family by enrolling in our occupational therapy program today.
