How do Messiah College students have the opportunity to interact with organizations like Bloomberg, Good Morning America, Google, Linked-In, Time Warner and more?
Answer: Into the City.
The Messiah College’s Career and Professional Development Center collaborates with the Office of Alumni and Parent Relations and the Development Office to offer an intensive two-day career immersion and networking program-called Into the City- which gives students real-life exposure to living, working and connecting in a city! It is an off-campus experience with big name organizations like Google, Bloomberg, and the New York Jets—and students won’t want to miss it.
Here are the top reasons Messiah College students should attend and alumni should participate in future Into the City trips!
Top reasons students should attend:

Learn about career options. You will learn about a variety of career options during the trip, allowing you to see just how many different job opportunities one company may offer.

Gain insight on what makes a successful job candidate. The professionals you meet with will give you direct, exclusive information about what makes a successful job candidate and what you should do to stand out among the crowd.

Understand various industries. You will experience and become aware of many different industries that are prevalent in major cities—for example, finance, education, athletics, retail and more. Examples of past site visits include Morgan Stanley, Pepsi, Boston Celtics, Philadelphia Eagles, American Cancer Society, JP Morgan and much more.

Build meaningful, professional connections and life-long friendships. When it comes to transitioning into the workforce, the alumni you meet with understand. They’ve been there. You’ll have the chance to connect with Messiah College alumni who will share their relatable experience and important career insights. On the trip, you’ll also become friends with students you normally do not have the opportunity to interact with from other areas of study.

Travel! Every city has its own culture, so get ready to explore! You will have free time to explore during the overnight stay and get a firsthand look at city living and working!
