Stabler Nursing Scholarship
The Stabler Nursing Scholarship has been established by the Stabler Foundation as a “debt of conscience” in that the student does pledge to return any funds received from this scholarship to Messiah University in a period of time not normally exceeding 15 years. However, it is not a loan, and would not usually obligate the recipient to return more than the amount that was received. The Stabler Nursing Scholarship is not a need-based form of financial aid, so any Nursing major can apply. Awards have been as high as $5,000 in prior years, but funds are limited and will be awarded on a first come, first served basis until they are exhausted. Please use this to apply. Any questions regarding financial aid should be directed to the Financial Aid Office at 717-691-6007 or finaid@messiah.edu.
Chatlos Nursing Scholarship Awards
There is a foundation that donates money for this each year. They decide the criteria for receipt. The Financial Aid Office picks the students who meet the criteria. A student cannot apply directly for this scholarship.
Nursing Education Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Department of Nursing initiates the application process during the spring semester for current sophomores and juniors. Financial need is a significant component in determining eligibility.
Christy Stark Smith Scholarship
Chosen by members of the Department of Nursing from among the top academic junior nursing students during the spring semester who are concentrating on nursing care of the child bearing family. The Financial Aid Office makes the award to those students with the highest financial need.
The Harry and Nancy Preis Endowed Scholarship Fund
The Department of Nursing nominates a junior nursing student during the spring semester who demonstrates excellence in academic and clinical performance in nursing care. The award is based on financial need as identified by the Financial Aid Office.
The Joan M. Wagner Scholarship
The Department of Nursing nominates a junior nursing student during the spring semester who is planning to pursue a career in community healthcare or nursing care of disadvantaged populations. The student must be in good academic standing. The award is based on financial need as identified by the Financial Aid Office.
