Mission and Purpose:
The Climenhaga Homestead and McBeth Alumni Center offer on-campus facilities primarily dedicated to providing hospitality and programming opportunities to our university guests and alumni.
Climenhaga Homestead Policies
There are four (4) guest suites in the Homestead, each one includes bedroom, private bath and sun room. The Minnemingo Room has 2 twin beds and full bath. The Yellow Breeches has a queen bed and shower only (no tub) in the bathroom. The Falcon Nest also has a queen bed, full bath. The President's Suite has a queen size bed and full bath.
- Guests who utilize the Climenhaga Homestead, i.e. “The Homestead,” for overnight accommodationsmust have Messiah University business planned during the time of their stay. This business must be related to a specific internal organization, department, or group within the University.
- The reservation must be made by the organization, department, or group arranging the overnight stay through the Conference and EventServices Box Office. The organization, department, or group must provide the org and account number to be billed at the time of the booking.
- Children under age 13 may not stay in the Homestead overnight. Children age 13 to 17 may spend the night but must be accompanied by an adult.
- Guests must follow the University’s Code of Conduct, which includes no smoking/vaping, no alcohol use, and no illicit drug usage on campus.
- The Box Office will serve as the centralized request manager for overnight accommodations in the Climenhaga Homestead.
- Conference and Event Services will handle any scheduling requests for meetings, meals, or receptions to be located on the first floor of the Climenhaga Homestead and on the outdoor patio areas.
- There will be a one-year advance booking limit on overnight accommodations.
- The Climenhaga Homestead and McBeth Alumni Centermay be closed during Breaks and Holidays.
- Catering requests for meetings and other activities shall be initiated by the office or department via the normal catering process.
- Catering costs will be the responsibility of the office or department sponsoring the event.
- No cooking will be allowed in the Climenhaga Homestead kitchen by anyone other than the University's Dining Services Department.
- Use of the Climenhaga Downstairsfor meetings (including the McBeth Conference Room),events, receptions and the like for non-university business will require a signed contractplus an insurance policy in the amount of one million dollars naming Messiah University as “Additionally Insured” for the date(s) reserved is required. Current rate for these meeting spaces is $200.
- The Climenhaga Homestead overnight suite accommodation fee is$80 per room per night.
- Rates are subject to state tax regulations. Internal and/or university related business is non-taxable. All other guest use is considered "hospitality usage" and is subject to a 6% state tax rate on any revenue, including catering expenses.
- Check-in may begin at 4:00 p.m. and check-out time will be no later than 10:00 a.m.
- Offices and departments hosting a guest on university-related business may pick up the room key in advance fromthe Box Office between the hours of 8am and 4:30pm for their guest.
- During non-business hours (4:30p.m. - 8 a.m.)check-in procedures will be handled through the Dispatch Office.
- Upon check-out, keys should be left in the container provided in the upstairs hallway at the Climenhaga Homestead.
McBeth Alumni Center
- As a courtesy to our Homestead guests, meetings in the alumni conference room will conclude by 5:00 p.m.
- Room capacity for the alumni conference room will be as follows: twenty-four (24) for a conference-style format, thirty (30) for a reception format.
- The Office of Conference and Event Services will be responsible for initiating all event descriptions and their distribution to appropriate campus departments for use of the McBeth Conference Room.
