Humanities Fellows

Fellows Fall 2 1

Energize Scholarship, Effect Change

An initiative of the Center for Public Humanities, Public Humanities Student Fellows are chosen from highly capable humanities students who are eager to connect their disciplinary knowledge and scholarship to public humanities projects that promote learning, conversation, and engagement with humanities beyond the classroom.

Each year, Student Fellows connect classroom learning with community involvement. The program encourages Fellows to deepen scholarship by reflecting on public humanities, discussing issues that extend beyond the classroom and collaborating on the Center’s projects.

The amount awarded to Public Humanities Student Fellows is $2,000 ($1,000 per semester) and 6 credit hours (3 credit hours per semester) for internship (registering for internship credit is optional).

The Center for Public Humanities Fellows program is made possible, in part, by the generosity of Dr. Darrel Bigham, a Messiah University alumnus and professor emeritus of history at Southern Indiana University and a member of the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission.

Applications are always open for the following semester. Apply to be a Center for Public Humanities Fellow here!
